Braxton Hicks Contractions and Dr's Appointments

Lately I've been experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions. They don't hurt they are just very uncomfortable. Tuesday night I got to experience them all night long. I did as the Dr or the nurses would recommend and that was to go lay down and drink plenty of water. So as I was laying there in bed they faded away slowly. After a couple of hours of being on my side I decided to sit up and watch part of the movie Goonies with Rhett. But as soon as I sat up the contractions came right back and so I turned to my other side and laid down and went to sleep. Poor Rhett he had to listen to me moan every once in a while with one that hurt just a little bit more then the rest of them.

Yesterday morning I had a few and I did the exact same thing as the night before. I went and laid down and drank water and after two hours they disappeared and I didn't have any more until my check up with Dr. Tindall.

Rhett and I went in for our GBS test that they do after your 36 weeks and then Dr. Tindall checked me to see if I had made any progression after contracting. He told Rhett and I that I was a fingertip (Not Dialated yet), 75% efaced which means that I only have 25% more to go in order for my cervix to be paper thin, and that Kyson's head is right there when he checked me. So far from what Dr. Tindall said is that everything looks great for this being my first baby. He couldn't believe how far down Kyson was into my pelvic area and how fast I had efaced since the last time I was checked. Last time I was check it was at the hospital on a night I was working and having contractions. Michele an older army nurse was the one who took care of me and she said that my cervix was just a dimple/thick/and high, which means that going from a dimple to a fingertip is a little bit of a dialation but not by much, my cervix is 75% thinner from it being thick and high meaning she couldn't even fill Kyson's head like Dr. Tindall can now.

Dr. Tindall told me that he was going to write me a perscription for asprin. After pondering that for a moment and not understanding what that would help me with he explained that I needed to place the asprin between my knees and keep it there until after sunday. Apparently he'll be out of town till Sunday evening and he doesn't want me to go into labor till he gets back. I was then told to try to stay off my feet and drink plenty of liquids until then, good luck with that one!

So far everything is looking great and Dr. Tindall doesn't seem concerned about anything more then laboring. Other then that we just thought you would like to know how everything is going and that we are doing fine. We'll let you all know when the time comes that we're heading to the hospital. If not before next wednesday you'll read about our next appointment on here.

Braxton hicks are the nice ones. but they are cool. At least compared to full blown back labor, I had back problems before I got prego, no back pain during the entire pregnancy but once I got in and they broke the water, and a few other things happened. I was in full back labor. I probably could've handled it if it was tummy contractions. but that was me. Hope all goes well, and wishing you the best of luck.
